Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF)

made up of fine particles MDF has a smooth finish and has a wide range of uses.

Description

MDF is a type of hardboard, which is made from wood fibres glued under heat and pressure.

It is dense, flat, stiff, has no knots and is easily machined.

Because it is made up of fine particles it does not have an easily recognisable surface grain.

MDF can be painted to produce a smooth quality surface. Because MDF has no grain it can be cut,  drilled and machined.

Applications:

Construction fixtures, non-load bearing lining, signage, shelving, skirting trim, furniture, door jambs, stair treads and non-bracing linings.

We carry sheets in 18mm 1220 x 2440mm  and also a thinline sheet 2.5mm 1220 x 2440mm.

Other sizes and gauges are available on request.
